While some foods help you reduce belly fat, others actually turn into the adipose tissues that enlarge the waist line. Analyze your diet closely and try to make adjustments cutting on bad foods and introducing more of the healthy ones.

Some of the foods that we consume contain trans fats, substances that are stored precisely in the abdominal area due to their chemical composition. The hydrogenated oils used in pastries, crackers, cookies and margarines are trans fats. As long as you consume these you won’t manage to reduce belly fat.

Sugars and refined carbohydrates also convert into adipose tissues around the waist. As long as you eat junk food, and constantly consume such substances as part of your daily diet, there’s no chance for you to lose weight and get content with your waist size. A superior physical shape comes with cleaning your body and eliminating anything harmful from diet and lifestyle.

Beer and any other form of alcohol are also responsible for abdominal fat. Beer belly is in fact the colloquial name of abdominal obesity. It is usually specific to men and it results from the excessive consume of beer, combined with a sedentary lifestyle. The beer belly perfectly matches the description of a couch potato. It takes a good amount of will and personal determination to actually reduce belly fat under the circumstances.

There is also good food that can efficiently help you reduce belly fat when the diet is supported by plenty of physical activity, good night rest and a healthy lifestyle. We have the ability to mention the following foods that improve digestion, accelerate the metabolism and provide plenty of nutrients:

- wholegrain cereals;
- vegetables, preferably with green leaves;
- nuts, almonds and seeds;
- colored fruit (particularly avocado, kiwis, limes, lemons, oranges, strawberries, etc);
- plenty of fresh juices and water;
- low fat dairy products;
- lean meat like fish and poultry.

There are some plants and herbs that accelerate the metabolism and work great for weight loss treatments. A very conclusive example is green tea. It has a mild laxative action, it cleanses the colon thus performing a local detoxification, it prevents cellular oxidation and it boosts up energy levels. And this example isn’t by far singular.

Mention must be made that people often don’t know what program, diet or plan to follow in order to reduce belly fat. The important thing is to avoid excess of whatever nature, and keep both diet and physical training balanced.
